Proton has announced that 8,207 units of the Proton Saga MC3 were delivered in April (+50.9% over March), lifting the sedan’s year-to-date (YTD) tally to 29,977 units (+42.8% year-on-year).
The Saga was Malaysia’s best-selling car in January (10,285 units), but supply issues affected sales in the following two months (February 6,007 units, March 5,398 units), which made it drop to second in February and third in March.
This was enough to allow the positively-ancient Perodua Bezza to overtake it in terms of YTD sales (22,955 versus 21,690 units) in March – let’s see which sedan will come out on top for April. Watch our full review of the 2026 Proton Saga MC3 below.

saga power window problem fixed already ?
The power window is a recurrent problem, cos the vendors r the same.Just go to claim warranty. Other mini issues will surface, cos China cars don’t have strict QC like Toyota. They r cheaper, no doubt.. If compete on pricing, the Jurassic Bezza will lose. But fanboys still buy, cos Jepun punya Toyota/Daihatsu quality. China cars
good for first few years.. Look at the X70 n x50… Cheap cheap at used car lots. Cos they start giving problems.
Spoken like a true ignoramus.
The Saga 1.5iGT is solidly wanted, more powerful and comfortable up to 7 years warranty, better than the rest in its class.
If they want that top-tier spot and to really go far,
They need to fix the supply chain, not just the car.
There are still very limited cars more comfortable and more powerful than the 2018+ Proton X70 and 2020+ Proton X50. RV still not cheaper than base Saga… Hopefully can see replacement model soon too.
Perodua cars are absolute death traps. 0% HPF steel, 0% Ultra High Strength Steels (gigapascal steel). In any real-life collisions, Perodua cars buckle like soda cans. Just scroll through all the videos and pictures on Info Siasat Terkini and other similar channels on Telegram. In every accident involving Perodua cars, whether it’s the old models or the current models, these cars will be badly mangled and crumpled up. They’re absolute death traps.
But see the videos and pics of even older Proton cars like the Gen2 onwards (that only use high strength steels equivalent to dual-phase steels). The passenger cell will still be smashed up worse than that of newer models from the Preve onwards the use HPF steel (Preve uses approximately 20% gigapascal steel content), but they’re still in better condition than every single Perodua vehicle.
Anyone who places their trust in a Perodua vehicle to survive in a bad real-life crash is truly too optimistic. If you want safety, go for a Proton or any of the current crop of China cars (most of the Chinese cars utilize over 40% UHSS content vs. 20-25% UHSS content by the Japanese).
Jetour’s T2 is built with a staggering 80% AHSS & UHSS content, which is unprecedented even for European vehicles like Audi and Porsche. That’s higher than even what Volvo and Subaru uses in their vehicles.
Saga’s BMA plaform is already using UHSS HPF steel for the B-pillars and AHSS for other critical areas like A-pillars, roof beams, etc.
Perodua – still 0% AHSS and UHSS.
Proton should declare that the latest Proton Saga is Proton Saga 4th generation, not MC3 anymore. Overall Proton Saga has heavily revised (obviously AMA platform plus1.5 Geely-based engine)!
