Saga in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Proton Saga continues as the MC3, launched in 2025. It uses the revised Advanced Modular Architecture platform and a new Geely-derived 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 118 hp. The range comprises Standard and Executive versions with automatic transmissions, plus the Premium with a CVT automatic. All are five-seat, front-wheel-drive sedans with 1,499 cc petrol engines.
Which variant to buy
Most buyers should pick the RM38,990 Standard, because it brings the same 1,499 cc, 118 hp petrol engine, front-wheel drive and five-seat layout as the rest of the range at the lowest price. The RM44,990 Executive costs RM6,000 more, so check its equipment list carefully before paying for the trim upgrade. Choose the RM49,990 Premium if the CVT automatic is the priority; it costs RM11,000 more than the Standard and RM5,000 more than the Executive.
Verdict
The MC3 is a meaningful reset for the Saga rather than a light facelift, with a revised AMA platform and new 1.5-litre engine.
