2026 Proton Saga MC3 to be on display at ACE 2025 this weekend – new exterior, interior, powertrain, kit

The hotly anticipated Proton Saga MC3 will be present at this weekend’s paultan.org Auto Car Expo, ahead of a launch set to take place later this month.

The local carmaker has already revealed official photos of the latest Saga, which looks substantially different from the outgoing MC2. Starting at the front, there’s now a full-width concave grille with an Ethereal Bow chrome bar and insert featuring raised pins.

The headlamps are also new with LED projectors and L-shaped daytime running lights, the former being a first for the Saga. Further down, the lower apron of the previous model that had three separate elements are now visually connected to form a full-width item, with the corner air inlets flanking the central intake being mostly covered.

Other changes include a reprofiled side mirrors, new 15-inch wheels, chrome door handle strips and a new shark fin antenna, while the rear gets full-width taillights. At the back is also where you’ll notice the new bumper that no longer has decorative trim where exhaust outlets should be. This area also sees a diffuser-like element with four fins instead of three and trapezoidal-shaped section that looks ripe for a F1-style brake light.

As for the interior, the more horizontal dashboard design is home to pill-shaped air vents and a pair of displays packaged within a single housing that does result in thick bezels. A new steering wheel, gear selector and air-conditioning controls are also part of the overhaul inside, along with a wavy pattern for the trim used ahead of the front passenger and on the door cards.

The Saga MC3 is built on the AMA platform, which is a platform used for models previously developed by the company but significantly upgraded to be able to accept newer technologies. These include those that are related to safety, with the Saga set to get six airbags and selected driver assistance functions. Like AEB, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, a front departure alert, a door opening warning and auto high beam.

Proton has also confirmed that the Saga will come with a 1.5 litre Intelligent Green Technology (i-GT) four-cylinder engine – essentially the facelifted X50’s engine without the turbo and direct injection – paired with a CVT (likely from Punch Powertrain).

Come on over to ACE 2025 to check out the Saga MC3 for yourself. The event takes place at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) from November 8-9, 2025.

Agreed. But majority of it is bezza particularly those e-hailing rides, less noticeable on saga. How could the driver see rear view mirror image clearly with so much obstacles on the glass pane?
