Harrier in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Harrier range consists of one Malaysian model: the 2.5 HEV. The hybrid replaces the previous local range as the sole XU80 variant and brings a 12.3-inch digital display. It remains a five-seat, front-wheel-drive petrol hybrid with an eCVT automatic gearbox and a 2,487 cc powertrain. There is no second trim or plug-in hybrid version in the Malaysian line-up.

The Harrier has the right fundamentals for a premium-leaning five-seat SUV: TNGA-K architecture, hybrid power and a cabin-facing digital-display update for 2026. It also looks properly premium in the flesh. But it is dearer than the Hyundai Santa Fe, Proton X90, Jetour VT9 and Leapmotor C10, so the Toyota badge and hybrid layout carry a substantial price premium over several D-segment alternatives.
