Overview
The 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper is a compact executive electric SUV for buyers who want a five- or six-seat Tesla with rear- or all-wheel drive. It starts from RM198,000 in Rear-wheel Drive form, bringing a 60 kWh battery, 466 km of range and 295 hp.
Model Y in 2026 — what's new
The Model Y carries into 2026 as the 2025-generation Juniper, but its Malaysian range has changed. The Long Range AWD has been dropped, leaving Rear-wheel Drive, Long Range RWD and the six-seat L Premium as the only AWD choice. A July 2026 price rise puts the range from RM198,000. The white interior option is gone; Zen Grey replaces it at the same price. A Performance variant has been filed in China, but is not part of the Malaysian range.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should take the RM198,000 Rear-wheel Drive if 466 km, 295 hp and five seats cover the brief. The RM219,000 Long Range RWD is the sensible step up for drivers who regularly need the 661 km range: the RM21,000 gap buys 195 km more claimed range and a 75 kWh battery, while power remains 295 hp. Pay RM263,000 for the L Premium only if six seats, AWD and 456 hp matter; it has an 82 kWh battery and 681 km range.

Verdict
The Model Y Juniper offers a clear spread of battery sizes, seating layouts and driven wheels rather than a confusing trim ladder. Entry price matches the Toyota Urban Cruiser, sits RM10,000 above the Suzuki eVitara and is RM10,888 below the Volvo EX30. The Long Range RWD makes the range case without adding AWD, while the L Premium is a substantial RM65,000 jump for buyers who need its extra seat and stronger dual-motor output.
