The Perodua Myvi is a five-seat B-segment hatchback for drivers seeking a compact petrol automatic for daily Malaysian use. This third-generation D51A arrived in 2021 and uses front-wheel drive and a CVT automatic throughout. Prices start from RM46,500, with 1.3- and 1.5-litre petrol choices.
Myvi in 2026 — what's new
The 2021 D51A carries on into 2026 unchanged, following its 2022 facelift. It remains a five-seat B-segment petrol hatchback with front-wheel drive and CVT automatic transmission. Buyers choose between 1.3-litre 94 hp and 1.5-litre 102 hp versions across five variants: two G grades, plus the X, H and AV.
Which variant to buy
For most buyers, the RM50,900 1.5 X is the sensible step up. It costs RM2,400 more than the RM48,500 1.3 G, but gets the 1,496cc 102 hp petrol engine instead of the 1,329cc 94 hp unit. Choose the RM46,500 1.3 G without PSDA or RM48,500 1.3 G if upfront cost matters most. The RM54,900 1.5 H and RM59,900 1.5 AV retain the same 1.5-litre engine, front-wheel drive and CVT; on paper you’re paying for trim, so check the equipment list before spending more.
Verdict
The Myvi has been Malaysia’s best-selling car for much of the past two decades, and the current D51A stays faithful to the simple daily-driver formula: a five-seat, front-wheel-drive petrol hatch with a CVT. Scheduled maintenance costs more than RM3,000 over five years. The 1.5-litre cars bring 102 hp, an 8 hp increase over the 1.3.
