The BMW iX1 L is the long-wheelbase, fully electric C-segment SUV in BMW’s X1 family, launched in Malaysia for 2026. It suits buyers after a five-seat BMW EV with front-wheel drive rather than the existing all-wheel-drive iX1 formula. Prices start from RM252,800 for the sole eDrive20L M Sport.

The 2026 BMW iX1 L joins the Malaysian range as a China-built CBU model with a long-wheelbase body and one eDrive20L M Sport variant. Final Malaysian pricing is RM252,800, following its initial estimated launch price. The single-motor front-wheel-drive SUV produces 204 PS (201 hp), uses a 66.5 kWh battery and has a claimed 433 km WLTP range. No further iX1 L variant is announced for 2026.

The iX1 L is a five-seat electric SUV with a useful 433 km WLTP claim, but its RM252,800 entry point places it above the RM250,800 BMW iX1 and RM248,888 Volvo EC40. It is far more expensive than the RM69,999 Perodua QV-E, RM95,000 Seres 3 and RM100,000 BYD Atto 2. The appeal rests on wanting BMW’s long-wheelbase iX1 specifically, not on being the lowest-cost route into an electric SUV.
