Perodua has announced a reduction in the price of its D74A Axia model, by up to RM4,700, effective from today, August 3. The national automaker said the price revision, which applies across the entire Axia model range, reflects continued improvements in the company’s operational efficiency and reaffirms its commitment to passing tangible value on to its customers amid current economic conditions.
The highest price reduction is for the 1.0G, which is now RM4,700 cheaper, its RM38,600 on-the-road without insurance price being adjusted to RM33,900. Of course, it’s still not the cheapest Axia around, with that title still belonging to the first-gen 1.0E manual, which was is still on sale, priced at RM22,000. However, word from the grapevine is that automaker is set to discontinue the Axia E later this year, and so the adjusted pricing for the Axia G may be a move to close that price gap somewhat.
In any case, all specifications and quality standards for the second-gen Axia, which was launched in February 2023, remain unchanged, with the cost savings derived entirely from process improvements and operational efficiencies, the company said. All four D74A variants share the same powertrain combo, which mates a carryover 1.0 litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder engine with 67 hp/91 Nm to a D-CVT automatic transmission.
“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians. The revised pricing is the outcome of sustained, continuous improvement initiatives undertaken in close collaboration with our local suppliers and partners within the automotive ecosystem,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Zainal said that the new pricing also reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to further improve its operational effectiveness, which has similarly translated into reduced service costs and revised pricing for the all-electric QV-E and battery-as-a-service (BaaS) offerings.
“We thank them (vendors and dealers) for extending their full cooperation in enhancing cost efficiency for the collective benefit of the industry and, by extension, all Malaysians,” he said.

Under Madani proton and Perodua prices going down the wazoo because of his election promise to lower car prices. He kept his promise so he must be reelected!
yes, they are suffering
competition from chinese car makers is now chipping into P2 sales and volume. now it is time to tighten then belt and reduce profit margin. Thier QV-e is a big blunder ya.. cash loss not yet recovered. worst than proton’s own model failures … it is very heavy burden to develop totally new model on your own… P2 is experiencing what P1 have had experienced in the past…
“All specifications and quality standards for the Axia remain unchanged, with the cost savings derived entirely from process improvements and operational efficiencies, the company said.”
That’s a very convoluted way of saying DISCOUNT
Revised 1.0G variant pricing almost removes the price gap between this generation of Axia and the previous one with VSC (2019 GXtra)
Can we get a DNGA Axia 1.0 Manual for RM30,900 to replace the outgoing 1.0E?
I agree
2023 A segment Kei car performance compact,
Not yet facelift for new tech?
It is not a kei car.
It is not a JDM.
Perodua keep cost low to continue to milk Malaysians consumers..
Performance??
Do you meant the 1.2L engine model available in certain market ?
Kei car and performance should not be existed in the same sentences as the engine capacity is limited to 660cc.
And no Axia is not a kei car. The 2nd gen Axia already built on the latest platform with latest tech from daihatsu. If they decides to give Axia facelift it will be after Ativa/Rocky/Raize/Rex. Currently all the other twin except for Ativa already received the facelift. That why Perodua try hard to clear all the old stock to make room for new Ativa facelift and hybrid version.
Competition will bring down prices. Let’s wait for Saga Cross pulak, can see Ativa drop price after that.
tergugat dengan SAGA lah tew, kalau tak jangan harap nak turun harga
can i use my tabung haji money to buy this?
Axia Gen 2 design a very bad. It change totally from Gen 1. It’s like different car or segment.
We need another true K-Kar segment like Viva/Axia-Gen1 size.
price reduction due to production efficiency? more like reflecting the sales number of each model kut
Magically higher spec & AV variants that ppl want not efficient yet apparently, lolol
Should had reduced msrp long due since Nihon ¥en has been plummeting into ravine for years
Why sudden price reduction for Axia 1.0 base model to $33900 ? Almost a whopping RM5k.
Answer: Combat intense competition from the 1.5 Saga at the $39K price range.
“Passing tangible value to customers”..all these ,just marketing sweet talk.A year 3 primary school student also understands the excessive horrendouly high price of the 1 litre Axia.
For years,P2 fanboys have to put up with the Jurassic Bezza and Axia which are priced way out of affordability if the hp tenure is not stretched to 10 years.
Even my daughter in kindergarten knew that PerutDuas were massively overpriced cars
You might be right on the marketing side but your assumptions is contradict with the number & data release by jpj each month.
Axia is still 3rd best selling car in Malaysia despite the “excessive horrendouly high price of the 1 litre” .
It even outsold the well beloved myvi. Just please dont assume everybody buy car base on the raw power alone.
Axia served it purpose as a compact city car with main focus on fuel efficiency. You should never drive an Axia or any Econobox on the road like a maniac.
Also the price just make sense within the Toyota group for a newly develop platform and Toyota dnga-b that underpinned the Vios is almost double the price of Axia. And add another 50k from Vios price can get you to Altis with tnga-c platform. You can see the pattern here
Ironically it’s also one of the reason why Proton can get away with new Saga pricing, theyre using the old Savvy platform.
Peroscammer scared of who??????
Always knew that PerutDua eats massive profits min RM10k on each car. Now it’s proven without a doubt that they were milking the B40 all these while
Just like Geely car way cheaper in Indonesia than our Proton price here?
They are trying to boost Axia sales. Nothing else.
People give discount, they bash, price high they bash as well. Like it or not P2 continues to outsell P1 despite living with dinosaurs. Consumers known very well that reliability is the key word as the car ages, just look at how P2 models hold their resale value.
P2 is the true Malaysians car with the amount of input and Malaysian individualisation put into models like the Myvi, Bezza, Axia and even the Alta which Toyota used to rebadge for the Veloz and not the other way round that most people think. Compare that to a brand that almost entirely rebadges in their history and that its key stakeholder is ashamed to use as a brand. Geely are popping up all over south east Asia and not Proton. Worst still we don’t even get the latest models of the Xingyue and Bingyue, looks like we are the dumping ground again, not so different from P2 no?
honestly I kinda agree. Still at the end of the day with competition, the customers will win regardless. And that’s what matters most.
if bugdet rm38k i’ll buy saga standard, rm45k i’ll buy bezza x variant or myvi 1.3 no adas variant.
Why waste 45k on an ancient fugly tin kosong junk like bezza? Unless you are driving grab, it makes no sense
So much from a company championing RESALE VALUE. Those that bought at the old prices must be slapping their own faces.
I never looked at Axia prices before but RM40k, 49k for an Axia is ridiculous!
Rm16.1k more for the souped up AV. That is half the value of the base G model. Tell me that is not a scam. And I still see plenty water fish buying the AV model. Lmao
