Chery at ACE 2025 – check out the new O5, Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7 and 8 PHEVs; RM1,000 rebate, gifts

Chery has a massive presence at Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) at the ongoing paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE), co-sponsored by Carro and Kärcher. In addition to its Omoda & Jaecoo and iCaur spin-offs, its main brand is also parading its comprehensively overhauled lineup at the show.

Front and centre are the Tiggo 7 and 8 PHEVs, launched last month. Priced at RM129,800 and RM159,800 respectively, the five- and seven-seater SUVs are powered by the new Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system, consisting of a 204 PS/310 Nm electric motor, a 143 PS/215 Nm 1.5 litre turbo four-cylinder engine and a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) connecting the two.

The petrol mill functions mostly as a generator but can also help drive the front wheels at higher speeds through a lock-up clutch, resulting in a total system output of 279 PS and 365 Nm of torque. An 18.3 kWh BYD-sourced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivers an WLTP-rated pure electric range of 90 km and a total range of 1,200 km for both.

Also on display is the O5, the facelifted version of the Omoda 5. Priced at RM116,800, this B-segment SUV gets a cleaner-looking front fascia, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (replacing the previous CVT) and multilink rear suspension (replacing a torsion beam). The 1.5 litre turbo four is unchanged and produces 156 PS and 230 Nm.

Last but certainly not least is the compact Tiggo Cross, a capable rival to the likes of the Proton X50 and Perodua Ativa. Power comes from either a 147 PS/210 Nm 1.5 litre turbo and six-speed DCT combo or a non-plug-in version of the CSH system, using a less powerful 102 PS/125 Nm naturally-aspirated engine. It’s competitively priced at RM88,800 for the turbo petrol and RM99,800 for the Hybrid.

Explore the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson facelift at ACE 2025 – enjoy cash rebates and more on the Staria

The paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2025, co-sponsored by Carro and Kärcher, runs from today until tomorrow at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), and among the many brands present here is Hyundai, which is showcasing all three models in its local range.

The Santa Fe is on display in its hybrid form, showcased together with a Thule rooftop tent. As shown, the seven-seater is powered by a 180 PS/265 Nm 1.6 litre turbocharged and direct-injected (T-GDi) Smartstream four-cylinder petrol engine, which is paired with a 65 PS/264 Nm electric motor for a total system output of 235 PS and 367 Nm. Buyers can pick from two variants for the hybrid, in this case the HEV Prime and HEV Prestige.

The SUV is also sold here in a 2.5 T-GDi Calligraphy version, powered by a 281 PS/422 Nm 2.5 litre turbocharged petrol mill. It’s also equipped with an HTRAC all-wheel drive system, which ensures optimum traction on slippery roads and uneven terrain.

The Tucson facelift is also present, and you’ll be able to check out the refreshed SUV, which features a bold and athletic exterior and a totally-revised, cleaner-looking dashboard leading the interior changes. In Malaysia, the Tucson is available in four variants and three powertrain options. Aside from a base 156 PS/192 Nm 2.0 litre MPI, there’s a 180 PS/265 Nm 1.6 litre T-GDi petrol engine (FWD and AWD) and a new 235 PS/367 Nm 1.6 litre T-GDi Hybrid, the latter making up the display units at the show.

Also at the Hyundai booth is the Staria, and the locally-assembled MPV is presented in one of the four new exterior shades for it, namely Stormy Sea. Available with ten or seven seats, the Staria is a spacious and practical MPV that is powered by a 2.2 litre inline-four turbodiesel engine offering 177 PS and 430 Nm of torque.

At ACE 2025, bagging a Staria will get you additional goodies. These include a choice of eight times free service (worth RM4,800) or a cash rebate up to RM6,000, and there’s also an exclusive year-end offer whereby you can enjoy a further RM10,000 off selected variants.

Additionally, My Hyundai Rewards allows you to choose between RM2,000 lifestyle vouchers or a RM1,500 cash bonus, and you’ll also get free accessories with your Staria purchase, and a collaboration with Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) will see Staria buyers getting a free AutoPro Package upgrade.

Also, every confirmed vehicle booking will enter you into a lucky draw to win the grand prize of an all-expenses-paid holiday for two worth RM10,000, and a total of 20 winners will also receive Kärcher products worth over RM30,000. Head on over to ACE 2025 at the SCCC to check out the Hyundai range.

  • Peugeot 408 priced from RM120k at ACE 2025 – grab the Leapmotor C10 before the EV tax-free holiday ends

Peugeot 408 priced from RM120k at ACE 2025 – grab the Leapmotor C10 before the EV tax-free holiday ends

The paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2025, co-sponsored by Carro and Kärcher, was in full swing today at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC). In case you missed it today, you still have tomorrow to catch those deals.

Both Peugeot and Stellantis stablemate brand Leapmotor are present at the event. For the latter, two examples of the C10, which was launched here in October last year, are on display at the show. The D-segment SUV was updated in June this year, and the 2025 version introduced some minor upgrades and kit into the mix.

Output from the single rear-axle motor is unchanged at 218 PS and 320 Nm, but new bits include a 11 kW AC onboard charger in place of the previous 6.6 kW unit, which brings about a faster AC charging time, in this case four hours instead of six before to get the 69.9 kWh battery from 30-80% SoC.

The update also adds a direct tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for real-time tyre inflation data as well as a motorised tyre inflator kit and a tonneau cover for the rear luggage compartment.

Most importantly, the price of the EV was also adjusted, being lowered to RM125,000 from its offer price of RM149,000 at point of launch, making the large SUV great value. While it’s set to be locally assembled at the Stellantis plant in Gurun by the end of the year, this is just about the last chance to bag the C10 in fully-imported guise at this price, given that the CBU EV tax holiday is set to end on December 31.

The Peugeot 408 is also on display at ACE 2025, where you’ll be able to get one for as low as RM120,000. That’s for the Allure, but there’s also a neat rebate for the GT, which is the example on show at the event hall. Whichever version you opt for, both come with the same 218 PS and 300 Nm 1.6 litre turbocharged four and an eight-speed auto transmission as well as up to a seven-year/200,000 km warranty.

Every confirmed vehicle booking will enter you into a lucky draw to win the grand prize of an all-expenses-paid holiday for two worth RM10,000, and a total of 20 winners will also receive Kärcher products worth over RM30,000. Head on over to ACE 2025 at the SCCC – the event ends tomorrow, November 9.

Volkswagen is at the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2025 – co-sponsored by Carro and Kärcher – this weekend at the Setia City Convention Centre with its complete line-up of models, including the recently launched eighth-generation Golf facelift range, currently comprised of the R-Line and the GTI. Also on display here are the Touareg R-Line, and the Tiguan Allspace R-Line.

The mainstay of the performance hatchback segment that is the Golf GTI, here in facelifted form with the now-familiar EA888 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four cylinder petrol engine that outputs 265 PS and 370 Nm, sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

This enables the Mk8 Golf GTI to attain a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds, and the performance is managed by an XDS electronic differential lock along with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive dampers.

Joining the Golf GTI is the Golf 1.5 eTSI in R-Line guise, and its transmission pairing makes a return to the seven-speed dry dual-clutch automatic, sending the EA211 engine’s outputs of 150 PS and 250 Nm to the front wheels. Featuring a mild-hybrid setup, this incorporates a 48-volt belt-driven starter-generator that aids accelerative performance and enables the engine to switch off while coasting.

More revisions feature in the cabin of the facelifted Mk8 Golf, where the infotainment is now a 12.9-inch touchscreen, up from the 10-inch maximum of the pre-facelift model. Arguably of even more importance is the return to physical buttons on its steering wheel, replacing the capacitive touch units of the pre-facelift. Also included here is the new IDA voice control system integrated with ChatGPT.

Alongside the Golf GTI and Golf eTSI R-Line, the Volkswagen line-up at ACE 2025 is also comprised of the Touareg R-Line and the Tiguan Allspace R-Line, with the duo making up the brand’s range of SUVs in the country.

Offers from Volkswagen Malaysia at ACE 2025 include the offer for the first 10 customers to book a new Volkswagen at ACE 2025 a chance to spin and win exclusive Samsung devices, such as smartphones, smartwatches, tablets and earbuds.

Adding to the occasion at the Volkswagen booth was Volkswagen brand ambassador Datuk Azizulhasni Awang, who made a special meet-and-greet appearance at ACE 2025 today.

Joining the Volkswagen brand is sister marque, Audi which is present at ACE 2025 with the Q7, the brand’s seven-seater SUV that is assembled in Malaysia. In 3.0 TFSI guise, this packs a 3.0 litre mild-hybrid turbocharged petrol V6 engine that makes 340 PS and 500 Nm, sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Joining the kit list are HD Matrix LED headlamps with laser high beams, the S line trim specification with the black styling package bringing black elements to the grille, exterior door mirrors and more, along with 22-inch Audi Sport V-spoke alloy wheels.

Elsewhere, equipment in the Q7 includes a head-up display, soft-closing doors, rear door sunshades, Audi Connect navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi wireless device charging, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium 3D sound system, a 360-degree camera system, and park assist.

As with Volkswagen, bookings of a new Audi vehicle made at ACE 2025 will make you eligible for the chance to win exclusive Samsung products via a spin and win contest, in addition to the rewards already on offer at the event. ACE 2025 runs this weekend; if you’ve missed the first day, there’s still Sunday to explore and take advantage of the offers on location.
