EX30 in 2026 — what's new
In 2026, the Malaysian EX30 moves into MY2027 form. The previous sole Ultra is renamed P5 Long Range, retaining its 69 kWh battery, 268 hp rear-wheel-drive layout and 475 km range. The Cross Country joins the range with off-road styling, 422 hp and a quoted 437 km range. Both versions have five seats and a single-ratio automatic transmission.
Which variant to buy
Most buyers should choose the RM198,888 P5 Long Range. It is RM20,000 cheaper than the RM218,888 Cross Country, has 475 km of range against 437 km, and its 268 hp is already substantial for a B-segment SUV. Pay more for the Cross Country only if its off-road-styled appearance and 422 hp matter more than the 38 km range deficit. On paper, the P5 is the more rational EX30.
Verdict
The EX30 has genuine character for a compact electric SUV. Its small footprint and surprising driving fun give it an edge over more anonymous alternatives, while the P5’s 475 km range makes the entry point the stronger package. But the cabin interface is deliberately unconventional, with no conventional instrument meter or head-up display and very few physical buttons. Spend time with the screen controls before signing up.
