Overview
Mitsubishi’s third-generation Triton is a diesel AWD pick-up for buyers who need a two-seat work truck or five-seat dual-cab. Launched in 2024, it spans manual and automatic versions, with the Athlete Enhancement at the top of the range. Prices start from RM101,980 and reach RM159,980.
Triton in 2026 — what's new
The Mk3 Triton continues into 2026 with a new Single Cab AT. It adds a six-speed automatic, reverse sensors and a rear differential lock, costing RM108,000, or RM3,000 more than the Single Cab manual. The range also includes the Single Cab manual, GL MT, GL AT, AT Premium and Athlete Enhancement.
Which variant to buy
For most five-seat buyers, choose the GL AT at RM116,980. It costs only RM2,000 more than the GL MT and keeps the 179 hp 2,442 cc diesel and AWD, but brings automatic shifting. The Single Cab at RM101,980 is the work-focused two-seater. AT Premium rises to RM145,980; on paper its listed mechanicals remain at 179 hp, so check its equipment list. Pay RM159,980 for the Athlete Enhancement only if its 201 hp output matters to you.
Verdict
The Mk3 is a substantial reset after a long-lived predecessor, with a square-cut body that is 55 mm longer. It covers a useful spread from a two-seat manual to a 201 hp automatic. Its starting price sits above the Nissan Navara’s RM98,600 and JMC Vigus Pro’s RM98,888, while remaining below the Isuzu D-Max’s RM103,121. The entry Triton is not the cheapest route into this class.
