GLE in 2026 — what's new

In 2026, the GLE receives a further facelift led by the full-width Superscreen. The update also brings a 4.0-litre flat-plane-crank V8 and a 585 PS AMG plug-in hybrid as part of the wider GLE line. Malaysia’s V167 facelift range remains the GLE400e AMG Line and GLE 450 4Matic AMG Line CKD, both five-seat AWD automatics.

Which variant to buy

Most buyers should take the GLE400e AMG Line at RM498,888. Its 402 hp 2.0-litre petrol plug-in hybrid has seven hp more than the GLE 450, and it costs RM30,000 less. It also has up to 108 km of electric range. Pay RM528,888 for the GLE 450 4Matic AMG Line CKD only if its 3.0-litre petrol Hybrid/REV drivetrain is reason enough to spend more. Both use AWD, an automatic gearbox and five seats. On paper, the extra money is for the drivetrain; check the equipment list.

Verdict

The GLE gives Malaysian buyers two AWD five-seat electrified powertrains, with the GLE400e making the clearer numerical case: more stated power for less money, plus up to 108 km of electric range. The GLE is not the lower-priced route into this executive SUV set; the BMW X5, Lexus RX and Volvo XC90 all start below it. The GLE450 asks more again without a stated equipment advantage.
