Overview
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a compact executive sedan for buyers after a rear-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz with five seats and petrol-hybrid or plug-in-hybrid power. The W206 generation launches in 2022 and costs from RM292,888 in Malaysia, placing it above the entry BMW 3 Series, Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal.
C-Class in 2026 — what's new
The W206 C-Class carries into 2026 unchanged, with two 221 hp C200 variants and the 333 hp C350e plug-in hybrid. Separately, Mercedes-Benz debuts the W520-generation C-Class EV in 2026, with 800V electrical architecture, up to 330 kW DC charging and a claimed WLTP range of up to 800 km. Its interior uses a large MBUX Hyperscreen, and no wagon version is planned.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the RM292,888 C200 Avantgarde or RM292,888 C200 AMG Line. Both have the same stated 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain, 221 hp, rear-wheel drive, automatic gearbox and five-seat layout, so there is no mechanical reason to pay more for either one; check the equipment list before choosing between the trims. Pay RM338,888 for the C350e AMG Line CKD only if its 333 hp output and plug-in-hybrid powertrain suit your use.
