This NX4 facelift generation launches in Malaysia in 2025, and the range starts at RM159,800 for the 178 hp front-wheel-drive 1.6T Prime.
Tucson in 2026 — what's new
For 2026, the Tucson moves into local CKD production in Kulim and receives price reductions of up to RM8,000. The 2.0-litre naturally aspirated version is discontinued, leaving the 1.6T range at roughly RM160,000 to RM190,000. The current line-up comprises the 178 hp Prime and Prestige AWD, plus the 242 hp Prestige Hybrid. The 2025-launched NX4 facelift remains the Malaysian Tucson for 2026.
Which variant to buy
Most buyers should choose the RM159,800 1.6T Prime. It has the same 1,598 cc, 178 hp petrol engine and wet dual-clutch automatic as the RM179,800 1.6T Prestige AWD, so the RM20,000 step is for all-wheel drive; check the equipment list before paying it. The RM189,800 Prestige Hybrid is the one to take if 242 hp and petrol-hybrid drive matter more than the RM30,000 premium over Prime.
Verdict
At the entry point, price is the hard sell. The Tucson costs far more than the RM103,800 Proton eMas 7 and RM106,800 Proton X70, and it is also above the RM106,800 Jetour Dashing. It is close in price to the RM159,948 Xpeng G6 and RM158,800 Zeekr X. Choose the Tucson for its 1.6T petrol, AWD or hybrid configuration, not because it undercuts this class.
