Carro opens flagship multi-brand EV showroom in Hong Kong – 500 Wuling Darion EVs for ride-hailing market

Carro has opened a flagship multi-brand electric vehicle showroom in Hong Kong, located on the seventh floor of the BMW Building in To Kwa Wan. The new space marks the group’s entry into Hong Kong’s new car market.

The showroom carries pure EVs from JMEV – available for test drives – alongside SAIC-GM-Wuling’s Darion EVs and models from JMEV and Omoda & Jaecoo. The timing is deliberate: Carro says the showroom positions it “at the heart of Hong Kong’s upcoming ride-hailing legalisation”, with the territory currently drawing up a framework for services like Uber.

To that end, Carro is introducing 500 units of the Wuling Darion EV tailored specifically for Hong Kong’s ride-hailing and fleet market, said Carro Hong Kong chief operating officer Yip Luke. “This showroom is more than a display – it’s a one-stop hub designed to support drivers, fleets, and partners as Hong Kong transitions into a new era of sustainable mobility,” the company said.

What’s in the showroom

Headlining the Wuling corner is the Darion EV itself, a fully-electric seven-seat MPV with powered sliding doors on both sides, a 204 PS/310 Nm motor and a 69.2 kWh LFP battery good for up to 540 km of range, with 30-80% DC charging in around 20 minutes. It’s priced at HK$338,800 (around RM183,000) retail, but there’s a corporate price of HK$298,050 (RM161,000) alongside an exclusive offer for online ride-hailing operators – no prizes for guessing who this one is aimed at.

From JMEV comes the Ewind, a family-sized electric SUV with a 70.38 kWh LFP battery for up to 610 km of range, offered in Standard (224 PS, HK$230,000, or about RM124,000) and Luxury (221 PS/320 Nm with L2 driver assists, HK$258,000, RM139,000) forms. It’s joined by the EV3, a compact city hatchback with 68 PS and up to 330 km of range.

The Jaecoo line-up will be familiar to Malaysians. The J5 EV – the same pet-friendly electric SUV just launched here at RM118,800 – is offered in Hong Kong in Skyline two-tone form at HK$238,000 (RM129,000), with the same 60.9 kWh battery and 402 km WLTP range. It’s listed alongside the boxy J6 electric SUV (371 km WLTP) and the J7 PHEV, whose 1.5L turbo Super Hybrid System offers up to 90 km of EV range and 1,200 km combined, as we know well from the Malaysian car.

The move mirrors the car marketplace unicorn’s playbook in Malaysia, where it has expanded well beyond pre-owned cars into new-vehicle retail – running Omoda Jaecoo, Zeekr and Dongfeng showrooms and service centres. It is also fresh off its entry into Australia in June via the CarPlace acquisition, which took the group’s footprint to eight markets.
