Following the disruption to the LRT Ampang-Sri Petaling Line service this morning as a result of a technical fault on the track at the Chan Sow Lin station, which caused a train to derail while passing through a track switching zone, Rapid KL subsequently deployed alternative trains and shuttle buses to ease movement for commuters using the line.
The rail operator said that repair works at Chan Sow Lin station are still ongoing, and has provided an update for the schedule of alternative train and shuttle bus services, which continues to remain active. During this period, trains coming from Sentul Timur will end at Pudu and then turn back, at a frequency of four minutes. Trains coming from Putra Heights will end at Bandar Tasik Selatan and then turn back, at a frequency of six minutes.
Additionally, shuttle trains will operate between Ampang and Maluri on Platform 2 at a frequency of six minutes each, while shuttle trains between Maluri and Chan Sow Lin will run on Platform 1B & 2B at eight minute intervals.
Meanwhile, shuttle trains between Bandar Tasik Selatan and Cheras will operate on Platform 1 with a frequency of eight minutes, while shuttle trains between Cheras and Pudu will run on Platform 1 at a frequency of eight minutes. All shuttle trains will stop at stations in between.
Free shuttle buses will operate between Hang Tuah to Cheras (including stops at Pudu and Chan Sow Lin) as well as from Hang Tuah to Pandan Jaya (including stops at Pudu, Chan Sow Lin, Maluri and Miharja) at a frequency interval of 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Rapid KL said that until the service is fully restored, passengers intending to travel to the city centre are advised to use the Putrajaya Line with a change of trains at the Sungai Besi station, and also advised commuters to use other alternative rail routes for their journeys to their destinations.
