Prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said despite global oil prices rising as a result of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Malaysia’s petroleum product supply remains sufficient until at least May this year, reports NST.
“First, the security of Malaysia’s oil supply remains under control. This is something we can be very proud of. When we reviewed the matter with Petronas, we found that petroleum product supplies are sufficient at least until May 2026,” said Anwar.
“This is certainly different from the situation in most other countries. That is why I always emphasise the importance of efficient, trustworthy and professional management governance,” he added.
The prime minister also noted that the ongoing conflict has affected global logistics, including restrictions on airspace for commercial flights as well as disruptions to oil and gas shipments that typically pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Crude oil prices surged well over USD100 per barrel earlier this week before easing and is currently at around USD100 per barrel. This saw the prices of unsubsidised RON 95 and RON 97 petrol go up by 60 sen to RM3.27 and RM3.85 per litre respectively, with diesel shooting up even higher by 80 sen to RM3.92. In the case of RON 95, Malaysians are still protected from the drastic price hike, as the government has decided to maintain the price of subsidised RON 95 under the Budi95 programme at RM1.99 per litre.

IDF master plan to cripple worldwide economy fallout intention to spike oil price via destroying oil infrastructure. KEK
Yahoo!!!!! The higher is the oil price, the more money the country is earning by exporting…..lol…So, pls dont BS us with no money for fuel subsidies
if the profit per liter exported is 50 sen , but the cost to subsidize each liter of budi95 is 100 sen, then obviously fuel subsidies will be a nett loss to malaysia
