Datuk Seri Lee Chong Wei is now an owner of the Zeekr 7X after taking delivery of a Tech Grey unit last week. The badminton icon is the second famous Malaysian to own the EV after music legend Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza collected the keys to her Forest Green unit in December.
Launched in August 2025, the 7X has been very successful for the young Geely-owned premium brand, finding over 1,500 homes by the end of 2025. The premium SUV even came second in the January 2026 EV sales chart, only behind the Proton eMas 5.
It remains good value even after a recent price increase for 2026, which saw RRPs increase by 1.6% to 1.8%. This comes following the expiration of tax-free EV incentives, and the modest adjustment “reflects its commitment to Malaysian customers and the brand’s long‑term strategy locally,” Zeekr Malaysia says.
The 7X range now starts from RM182,800 for the RWD Standard (from RM179,800), while the RWD Long Range is priced at RM193,800 (from RM190,800). The AWD Performance range-topper now goes for RM230,800, up from the RM226,800 launch price. Full specs and details in our launch report.
Zeekr plans to launch three new models in 2026 and has confirmed its CKD plans. The first Zeekr model to be locally assembled in Malaysia (and the world) will be the 7X. No timeline was given, but seeing that the 7X is not one of the three new models for 2026, it should surface in 2027 at the earliest.
