Months after its debut in the Malaysia kapchai market, rumours emerged about the Modenas Z15GT supercub. Amongst these were there would be an automatic clutch variant of the Z15GT.
This was confirmed by Modenas Chief Executive Officer Roslan Raskan during a media visit to the Modenas factory in Gurun, Kedah. Roslan explained there are plans to expand the Z15GT model range, including an automatic clutch early in the product development cycle, with a target of launching it in the Malaysia market early next year.
Response from its research and development department indicated the entire system needed to be studied further, ad to determine if the gearbox should be a four-speed or five-speed unit. The process of installing an automatic clutch involves replacing the entire manual clutch unit, and producing a new engine clutch cover, requiring a new casting mould.
Modenas foresees the introduction of the automatic clutch version of the Z15GT will draw in more customers, notably those who look on the Z15GT as daily transport. Currently, the Z15GT has received widespread acceptance in the Malaysia market, notably in Kedah and Selangor.
Priced at RM8,288, the Modenas Z15GT was launched in Malaysia in October 2025. Powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill displacing 149.5 cc the Z15GT produces 16.76 hp at 9,500 rpm, with 13.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, going to the rear wheel via six-speed gearbox with manual clutch and chain final drive.
modenas take my money! auto clutch version will be good to send kids to school. hate scooters! they are like lgbt version of a normal bike :p
it’s pretty crazy we never got a 150cc auto clutch bike before this, modified LCs has shown it’s capable.
If this bike comes without any significant hiccups the auto clutch version will kill large section of the markets both scooters and other suped mopeds.
Dude scooters are cooler than kapcais. Naked/sport bikes are still the best though.
Bikes can’t cure your insecurities, you need counselling for that. Real enthusiast will appreciate the H2 and Moda Moca, and everything in between even if they won’t own one due to preference

I love to have 1 more bike 150cc but with auto clutch.
PDRM should more often cracked down all this illegal bikes, its really annoying and irritating….should also impose heavy penalties including jail.

the loud noise really is a nuisance at 615am daily waking up sleeping neighbourhood across malaysia, no wait sorry that noise is not from bikes.
There should be a law allowing Police to shoot bikes at sight. Bloody menace, parasites.
Before you say this, try to look from the rider’s perspective. Some were able to afford this bike for their daily commute and to find food, While some is taking advantages by modding the bike only to be recognize by others. Everything that we have, there will always be a pros and cons to it. Try consult with anyone of your friends that is riding a bike. cheers
