Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has announced that it sold over 153% more cars in 2025 (17,849 units, or 17,845 according to JPJ) than it did in 2024 (7,040 units of only one model – the Jaecoo J7), which was the year of the carmaker’s entry as Jaecoo Malaysia.
That means it’s going to cumulatively hit 25k soon, after reaching 20k in October. The company said 11,522 J7s and over 3,000 J7 PHEVs reached Malaysian homes last year, which means the Jaecoo J8 and Omoda C9, combined, sold at most 3,327 units.
“Our strong growth in 2025 is a clear signal that Omoda & Jaecoo has moved beyond being a newcomer to become a preferred choice for Malaysian drivers. As we head into 2026, our focus is on solidifying our presence as a local automotive mainstay. We are committed to growing alongside Malaysia, ensuring that our global innovation is paired with a service and dealer network that truly understands the needs of our local community,” said Chery Corporate Malaysia EVP Men Lin Bo.
The RM120k-estimated Jaecoo J5 is now open for booking and will launch soon, while the Omoda C7 (register your interest here) could launch this year too – these are positioned below the J7 and C9 respectively.
