Prasarana recorded over 1.54 million passenger journeys on New Year’s Eve (+0.76% year-on-year) across its rail and bus services – the highest in Rapid KL‘s and Rapid Penang‘s history, Bernama reports.
“The efficiency of coordination and crowd control management, driven by about 3,000 Rapid KL frontline personnel in the Klang Valley, ensured rail and bus users enjoyed smooth, safe and comfortable journeys throughout the celebrations,” Prasarana president and group CEO Amir Hamdan said in a recent statement.
He also gave shout-outs to the police, Prasarana’s auxiliary police, event organisers and security teams at major shopping malls. The day saw 1.29 million rail passengers along with 251,737 bus and Rapid On-Demand passengers, including in Penang.
